Story Highlight: Idaho Special Legislative Session 2020
After three days of work, the Idaho legislature wrapped up a special session to address the handling of the coronavirus pandemic. There were two topics they addressed: The November election and liability for businesses.
Here are three pieces of legislation heading to the governor’s desk:
Legislation was approved to make adjustments for the November election. Election offices can get a head start in sending and preparing ballots for election day which is expected to attract an influx of absentee voters.
Lawmakers also voted in favor of allowing in-person voting access for the election.
Legislators in the house and senate approved legislation intended to shield businesses and schools from a lawsuit if someone catches covid-19. This would only be in place through next July.

REPORT: Glass was shattered as a group shoved their way into the House Chambers on day one of the Idaho Special Session. Limited seating was available inside due to coronavirus precautions, but advisories were ignored.
