September Recap
I couldn’t get a good on-camera intro out of me for this month’s recap. I felt with everything going on, its difficult to summarize September within a minute. Instead of rambling, here are some things I covered in September, 2020:
Less coronavirus coverage and more fire coverage. That’s what I found myself working on through September.
However the coronavirus has always sat in the shadows of every day life. The loss of loved ones has hit everyone across the country, marking a milestone of 200,000 people dead from the virus.
Here in Boise I covered two deaths that were unforeseen. The death of a 3-year-old who went missing and was recovered days later in a neighborhood pond. The death of a firefighter aircraft pilot in his 50s wasn’t an easy one either.
Not all news has touched the hearts of the community with sadness. I had the pleasure of catching up with a prayer group in front of Nampa Police Department. They prayed for the community among the struggling times we’ve all witnessed.
I also enjoyed putting together a story about a family who is traveling across the country in an RV.
The air has definitely gotten colder, I am getting chills every morning while going live, but I’ve been sticking to a lot of weather forecasting in the studio which has really brightened my mood! We had three anchor shows starting this month, stay tuned, I threw in some weather bloopers there as we navigated our “new normal” in boxes.
