The drive from Sandpoint, Idaho to Missoula, Montana was three hours. Three hours of beauty weaving in and out of forested areas, to wide open plains filled with horses and cattle.

We got to Missoula in time for lunch and some local shopping. The town has a little bit of everything for food and shopping options. Perfect for a day trip along a gorgeous route through the mountains.

The river ran along most of our route and turned golden as the sun set over the glowing mountains and hills.

We even stopped at a roadside well, where fresh spring water was flowing. With our water bottles full, we were revived for the trip home.
